Frequently Asked Questions

What is body work? Bodywork is a hands-on therapeutic practice that uses techniques such as massage, myofascial release, and stretching to assess and improve a horse’s muscular health, comfort, and movement. It helps reduce tension, enhance flexibility and circulation, support recovery from physical strain, and promote overall performance and well-being.

How do I know my horse needs a bodywork? If you have a performance horse or is worked generously throughout the week, body work can be beneficial. If your horse has recently healed or has chronic pain from previous traumas, bodywork can be beneficial. When in doubt, ask your vet!

Does body work improve my horses' performance? Yes. Body work is not just a generalized massage for quick relief. Body work includes working with all parts of the equine body to address dysfunction and improve the horses performance.

How often does my horse need bodywork? After our initial assessment, we will work out a plan for treatment, and follow up times will be recommended.

Can I ride my horse after a session? Yes. Generally after treatment movement can be beneficial for remobilizing the horses true biomechanics.

Do I need to be present during the session? It is required you be present for the first session which includes the initial assessment. While it is recommended that you be present for follow up treatment, it is not required.
